High School Tennis: Summer tennis camps are back 2022 without delays

high school tennis camps, summer, easter, spring break

Is a International Summer tennis camp right for your player?

As high school tennis players look ahead to Easter tennis camps & summer tennis camps in 2022 they´re ripe to go BIG!

With another weird school year of limited socialization, restrictions & uncertainties. High school players may not play, again! Junior tennis players want to be on court, outside, with friends who play tennis.

Covid hit kids (12 - 17) hard these past 2 years. The isolation feels like desperation to a tennis player who wants to play. And thanks for Covid, kids may not play another tennis season.

After speaking with more than a few high school tennis coaches around the US, they´ve felt it too. High school coaches sense junior players losing that internal drive, passion and energy for the game.

Summer Tennis Camps 2023

It got me thinking how a summer tennis camp in 2023 is the perfect excuse to get kids out playing and socializing.

You may be thinking, "but is it safe"? And the answer is, yes.

Tennis academies in Spain offering Summer tennis camps for 2022 have safety first around Covid.

Think of these summer tennis camps as a mental health week. Loads of activity, friendships and a fresh design on their tennis game.

There is no guarantee that every high school around the country this year will play again.

And what does that mean for high school tennis players? For many it can mean not having an outlet to release real anxieties. And we all know kids are suffering with their new normal. But their processing it all is leading to depression, instability and feeling stuck.

High school tennis players aren´t playing. Some, not at all.

So their groundstrokes will need real attention, their serves won´t be reliable. The camaraderie with teammates won´t happen. And if it does, it will feel different. Their physical conditioning will squander. And as some coaches have noticed, so does a players apetite for the game.

Tennis Camps Spain (1 gem in Florida)

The jewel of a summer tennis camp in Spain is it´s outdoors.

There is very little rain in Spain. Another bonus towards un-interrupted play.

Spain is taking safety towards Covid for real. Tennis academies in Spain follow established guidelines around mask wearing. And ensure junior players take that responsibility too.

Why?

Junior tennis players training at these academies, year round annually, leave in Summer. They play ITF tournaments or pro circuit events.

They´ve trained all year for these events and they need to be healthy.

So, the team effect of safety, protocol and excellent tennis training allows them to keep playing tennis. Keep doing what they love.

High School Tennis Training Camps

High school tennis may not share the depth of performance competition but they do love the game. I mean so many don´t play high school tennis because they don´t find it valuable. They feel the level just isn´t there. So many kids who try out for high school tennis are totally new to playing tennis. With little to no basic foundations on how to play tennis. So of course they need strategy and help if they want to play and succeed at match-play.

Each summer parents and players make it a priority to top up the players game in time for playing season. To be a part of the team. To gain a playing position and good result. Tennis players will add this to college transcripts, feel satisfied and gain entrance to college.

But for the past 2 years they´ve played very little tennis. And competed not at all. A true weakness.

Let´s not forget that while not all high school tennis players have their eye on college tennis some do go on to play.

High school tennis helps players decide where they want to go in their game.

For players age 16 & 17 leading up to college tennis that doesn´t leave a lot of time to develop a game that continues to face delays.

This 12 - 17 yr old tennis player needs to vent anxieties, play it out of their bodies. Tennis helps them do that.

While mentally tennis increases focus and concentration. Tennis gives them tools to plan. Both on court and for future decisions they´re currently making in their lives.

Being around others who are healthy role models, with similar interests also helps the mental health of junior players. Talking and working things out with peers seems impossible to do these days for student athletes. Which makes me believe 2022 is the best year for high school tennis players to enroll in a summer tennis camp away.

In a secure and safe environment where they can feel free to be who they are and play what they love. Around peers who they´ll laugh, share and train with.

All 3 tennis academies in Spain offer high school tennis players a complete step up from a local summer tennis experience.

This was the trip that blew the doors off my own competitive junior tennis. This tennis travel trip in my teen years helped me decide my destiny with tennis. To play college or not. To take it as far as high school and let it be.

But it was playing the sport, internationally, that was the best exposure to the game I could have had. It showed me what it would take to be realllly good! Players get use to local or national talent. International tennis is another experience entirely.

It´s like a whole new tennis world and a total notch up. Before this multicultural experience I knew a game with players and a style I got used to. I took for granted I played with and for the best. That my tennis style, level and life was the only one. The best one. Until I learned there was more out there.

It was exciting! Drew me deeper into the game and sent me home feeling more powerful in my own game. Like I knew something others

didn´t. The experience made me want much more from the game.

Friendships were energized because we were busy and structured. We were active. We were doing and playing something we loved.

We didn´t have to have it all figured out by the end of the summer tennis camp. But it sure did point the way for many of us players.

Delays, inconsistencies & departure from the norms have players losing out again this year.

A summer tennis camp for your high school player can point the way for them too. At least they´d have an opportunity to get back out there uninterrupted and play.

The one thing I can confirm? They´ll improve your tennis game. Their understanding of the modern junior game. And they´ll play with kids their age and grow.

Here´s to your players 1st Summer tennis camp 2022 for High School players in Spain.

Keep them on your radar.
